Field Trips: The Flagstaff Recycling Tour

Willow Bend offers guided tours of the City Recycling Center / Norton Environmental Materials Recovery Facility by appointment Monday through Friday. Thanks to support from the City of Flagstaff, we offer all MRF tours free of charge! FUSD schools also receive FREE bussing! Contact Willow Bend (779-1745) to schedule.

We tour safe areas of the fully operational plant. Students may view materials as they are processed. The tour includes information on the City’s curbside collection of recyclables, conservation of natural resources, and ideas about how to reduce waste. This field trip is the perfect compliment to the classroom programs “Recycling Rules” for kindergarten through grade 2, and “Trash and the 3 Rs” for grades 3–5.
