15th Annual Water Ethics Contest
Contest Rules
Entries must be received by November 22nd.
- Artwork (and essay if on a separate sheet) must be accompanied by the official entry form, which you can find here: Water Ethics Contest Official Entry Form
- Teacher and parent input is acceptable in development of the theme and principles upon which the entry is based, but such assistance must result in the student’s understanding of ethical use of water. Teachers and parents may instruct and demonstrate, but may not participate otherwise.
- Can be in artwork or essay form, illustrating or explaining the concept of the ethical use of water (water conservation, clean waterways, water awareness, rainwater harvesting, or other applicable ideas).
- Artwork using any medium, must be no larger than 8.5 x 11 inches overall, including any optional matting, and illustrate Subject may be of an animal, plant, or human activity that illustrates the concept.
- Essay must be no more than 250 words and may be incorporated into or attached to the artwork if student chooses to do both.
- Entries will be judged on the basis of creative thought, relevance, artistic rendition, and soundness of the essay portion.
- The artistic rendition or essay must be accomplished solely by the student.
- All entries will become the property of the Coconino Plateau Water Advisory Council/Watershed Partnership and Willow Bend Environmental Education Center in which they may be used for educational and outreach purposes.
- Entries will not be returned unless accompanied by a stamped, self-addressed envelope.

Youth Water Ethics Essay and Art Workshop
When: Saturday, October 19th, 11:30am-12:30pm
Where: City of Flagstaff Public Library- Downtown Branch
Willow Bend Environmental Education Center and the Downtown Flagstaff Library invite you to participate in an interactive workshop exploring the vital concept of water ethics and the importance of water conservation. This engaging session will guide students in crafting essays or creating artwork for our Water Ethics Contest, tailored for 4th graders. Youth aged 9 and older are welcome to participate in this fun and educational opportunity.
