Adult Workshop: Botanical Ink Making

Botanical Ink Making Workshop; A Journey into living art with Jill Sans
Saturday, January 27th, 10am – 12pm

We will learn to create botanical inks from natural materials readily available at home. Make your own ink to create with, this workshop will provide introduction knowledge to build upon and give participants a foundation to start their natural ink making journey. We will make several inks together and get the opportunity to play with different hues all made from plant material. Every student will go home with a bottle of botanical ink. This workshop combines learning with play!

Jill Sans is a painter and owner of The HeArt Box Gallery in downtown Flagstaff. She focuses primarily on paintings of the natural world; from botanical art to mandalic representations. Working with mixed media and handcrafting her own natural inks and pigments from plants. She creates worlds on canvas and reclaimed materials, beauty is the essence of her work, an offering to the world.

• Paper for creating
• Tools such as brushes for play

What we’ll learn & do during our time together:

• How to create a botanical ink from start to finish, a recipe to go home with
• Time to play and learn the magic of botanical ink
