Climate Change and Renewable Energy Teacher Workshop Jan 25th-26th
This two-day workshop will cover climate change and renewable energy curriculum, hands-on activities, teacher check-out kits, as well as useful information for teachers wanting to participate in the Annual Flagstaff Climate Summit (including the Climate Action, KidWind, and Solar Structure Challenges). Information and activities are geared towards 4th-12th grades. More information on the 2019 Flagstaff Youth Climate Summit and all challenges can be found here. Workshop participants are highly encouraged to attend both days, though this is not required.
Renewable Energy, Saturday, January 26th, 8:30AM-4:30PM
Kathy Jackson, founder of SpiritWind Kidz Ranch and an instructor of KidWind and REcharge Labs, along with local renewable energy experts will join us for a renewable energy overview and an introduction to the KidWind and Solar Structure Challenges. During this workshop, we will cover Wind for Schools and solar power curriculum (hands-on low resource STEM activities that can be used in the classroom) and give an overview of available teacher check-out kits.
The workshop will also provide information about the 2019 Flagstaff Youth Climate Summit, with a focus on the KidWind and Solar Structure Challenges.
Workshop is open to teachers and non-formal environmental educators. Limited spots! Registration required.
FUSD teachers: workshop qualifies for salary advancement.
Workshop participants are highly encouraged to attend both days, though this is not required.
